Our Team of Horses
We have a great team of Horses and Ponies, some of them have been with us for many years and are worth their wait in gold !!
' Flicker ' - 11hh Grey pony mare, around 25 years old.She has been part of our family for sooo long. I was given Flicker 21 years ago as pony with laminitise, and she was in a bad way.When I first saw her I thought she was too far gone to recover. I remember Cliff putting two front shoes on her 'back to front' to releave the pressure on her toes, her foot prints looked pretty wierd!With controlled diet and foot care this lovely little pony came right and has given not only my daughter (now 16yrs) but many, many children pleasure over the years.You name it, she's done it..pulled a cart, years of pony club, even won the surprime Champian Hairy Horse 2011. She is now in semi retiremant and lives with her mate at the zoo 'Garfield' the Donkey.

‘Ace’ 15.2hh appaloosa Gelding, a legend at 31 years old .I have had many horses over the years but Ace has been my main man. I rode him for 11 years and he never let me down !!A far better jumper than I was in the early days, played polocross ,trekking, won the Poraungahau Beach races at 21 yrs old and two years prier to that. Now he’s semi-retired, a real gentleman Schoolmaster in the riding school.
'Casper'-15.2hh Appaloosa Gelding ,19 years old. By far our most used horse here, we have had Casper for 14 years, another great horse who has never let us down. Great nature, smooth easy paces, great jump, full wire hunter, Endurance riding, broken to harness, a fantastic all rounder!! The only trouble with Casper is he has a pink nose and eyes and he has to wear a sun hat in summer otherwise his face gets so sunburnt.
