FEEDING THE ANIMALS
Feeding the animals is a great delight when visiting a petting zoo! Rather than just looking at animals in their pens, feeding encourages the animals to come forward for a pat in addition to receiving a treat to eat. This enables customers to get a real 'hands on' experience with the animals.
All the goats, sheep, llamas and alpacas can be hand fed. Remember to keep your hands flat and DO NOT feed the horses or pigs, as they like food AND fingers...! Parents make sure that you check the signs by the various pens and remember that children must be supervised at all times around the zoo.
It's great for us to hear as many squeals of delight coming from the parents as well as the children, this shows us that it's an enjoyable outing for the whole family!
