Feeding the Animals
Feeding the animals is a great delight when visiting a petting zoo. Rather than just looking at the animals in their pens, feeding encourages the animals to come forward for a pat as well as a treat to eat.
This enables customers to get a real ‘hands on’ experience with the animals.
All the goats, sheep, llamas and alpacas can be hand fed. Keep your hands flat and DO NOT feed the horses or the pigs as these like food and fingers...! Parents read the signs and remember that children must be supervised while at the zoo.
It’s great for us to hear as many squeals of delight coming from the parents as well as the children, this shows it is an enjoyable outing for the whole family.
